The Dasher Pay model..
Recently Doordash has taken away the pay model that they claim to have. Drivers are no longer recieving higher pay for longer trips when they are supposed to.
So why are we not getting paid properly?
If you call Doordash and ask them to send you a copy of the pay model, they will send you a copy. The issue is that this pay model is not the way they actually pay you. Dasher's from all over have been recieving only a $2.25-$2.50 basepay for distances of even 10+ miles. A few months ago this was not the case at all, if you delivered 10 miles you would recieve around a $4.00 - $4.50 basepay. This was very similarly aligned with the pay model.
This does not even cover gas round-trip..
How? Quoted from Doordash
"Base pay is DoorDash's base contribution for each order. This will range from $2-10+ depending on the estimated time, distance, and desirability of the order. Deliveries that require Dashers to travel a longer distance, that are expected to take more time, and that are less popular with Dashers will have a higher base pay. Base pay will not change based on the customer tip amount. "
10% off on fuel was just extended!
.48c/Gallon add's up but is not a lifesaver..
Setting up a DasherDirect account is well worth it. Since the program started I have recieved $105.78 from the 10% cashback.
The Weekly Gas Bonus was very short lived, and was honestly just a PR move. Getting the DasherDirect card ensures that you will still keep more money in your pocket.
